    The Vyne

The first stop on your journey is The Vyne, a 16th century manor and country house. It was originally built for Lord Sandys, Henry VIII's Lord Chamberlain. Then it was acquired by the Chute family, who managed the estate and made sure it retained its glory for more than 300 years. In the 17th century it was remodelled, and a classical portico and summerhouse were added to the ensemble.
Take your time to indulge in the lovely atmosphere of the place. The grounds of the estate are a perfect place for a morning walk.
